Ahhh! The Zombie sheep is eating my brains!

Mood: Determined…is that even a mood?

Listening: To the voices in my head

Watching: Nothing at the moment...but last night I came across the weirdest movie...A New Zealand horror flick called "Black Sheep." It's about a flock of zombie sheep who thrive on human flesh and... that's all I got from watching a minute of it. There was tons of blood and I couldn't sleep. I didn't know sheep could be scary. Oh dear...

Eating: Chewing Stride gum

Drinking: Not at the moment

Craft: Writing…duh! And still knitting and making a black lace mask. Pics…Coming Soon!!!

The past November, I have participated in my first ever NaNoWriMo event and…

epically failed.

To those who are not familiar with this event, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, which is held from November 1st – 30th of every year. The objective of this event is to finish 50,000 words by the end of month…yes kids…there is a deadline, which makes everything fun! This is actually (believe it or not) a fun, yet challenging event to be a part of. It teaches a vast spectrum of writers to discipline themselves and not stray from their writing goals and to prevent their irking urge to edit every 5 seconds.

So, why did I “epically fail”?

I only reached up to 12,985 words. Just ok for a beginner….I’m mean you can’t get everything right the first time…like the pot holder I was knitting, which turned out to look like a sad rag. But that is why I want to redeem myself this month. Starting tomorrow, January 8, 2010, I will be holding my own NaNoWriMo for myself, but you are welcome to join me on this challenge. And my (or our) deadline will be February 6, 2010.

Good Luck and Happy scribbling!

If you want to check out NaNoWriMo, the website is www.nanowrimo.org

On this site, it’ll give you a more helpful description of NaNoWriMo and help you meet and keep in touch with fellow writers in your area and all over the globe…and you’ll be surprised on who you’ll find. I found out my old elementary school classmate was participating and he was more than helpful. It’s really encouraging when you’re not alone.

You don’t have to pay for anything. At first, I thought I had to because of the money count they were posting, but that is just donations. And they probably have links to other events and challenges they are holding during other months like Script Fenzy in April if you’re more of a script writer than a novelist. Also, they won’t make you post your work…I suggest at any point you Don’t post your work.

P.S. If you came face-to-face with a killer zombie sheep...What would you do? I am very curious.
