How could you possibly be a writer?!!!

Mood: Confuzzled…but trying to find the way

Listening: To the live (and only) version of “Future Love” by Lady Gaga on You tube…I wish she made a recording. Has that jazzy feel with an ironic twist and edge.

Lady Gaga's Future Love on You Tube...Watch with me.

Eating: Spaghetti and meatballs from a small pizzeria

Drinking: Water..need those 12 glasses, baby dolls

Hobby of the moment: Knitting...need those scarves to keep warm  -thumbs up-

Growing up I wasn’t that fond of reading. I was a slow reader, in fact, resulting in awful grammar and inept skills in composing a decent essay.

Now, you’re probably thinking, “How could you be an aspiring writer if you don’t like reading?!!!”

To all those competent and accomplished writers whose blood is racing and heads are throbbing to ferociously type constructive, yet welcomed criticism or vicious and useless comments similar to the death threat I received back in February of ’09 ((forgiven…NOT forgotten darlings)), I am getting to that…so take a breather…and read….then you can do whatever you want.

It would be completely ignorant of me if I didn’t understand it is vital that a good writer must read…probably everyday and every moment they have free time. So this is a piece of advice to those taking the journey with me. I have a “not-so-pithy” list if you want to get started…Go ahead don’t be shy….and trust me…they’re valid choices. You won’t be seeing “The Twilight Saga.” No offense to Stephanie Meyer…Note: Not a diss. I have no right to judge or criticize anyone

Next pondering question…”How was I inspired to become a writer if I didn’t like reading?”

As a child I was the typical quiet, (painfully) shy girl, usually stuck within four walls. And during my lonesome ponderings I developed whimsical characters (yes…imaginary friends…Luv ya Chip!) and stories that kept me company and occupied. Then into my High school years (ugh!), usually during classes, such as geometry, I started jotting their adventures on the side of my notes. These thoughts and snippits of my characters' lives brought me great joy.

It hit me! I couldn’t let them die as bullet points on graph paper beside incorrect proofs and notes on postulates. I think the competent and accomplished writers are with me on this when you can’t allow your little darlings to die in your heads (ok…weird visual) or next to incorrect homework problems. I had to write...it was my vocation to document their complete bios and share them with other lonely souls trying to get through high school, hum drum week days, or weekends spent confined within four walls. When you can offer something positive to the world...or even one person...you have to do it. And I want to do this in the best way that I can...by reading and writing as much as I can. Every writer must learn to refine their skills... or you're in for a lot of death threats...jk jk.

P.S. OK…now I feel like such a narcissist. What about you? What drove you to write or what you do? Sprinkle me with your paint and glitter.
